ESWT (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy)

ESWT is a treatment by shock waves generated and given extracorporeally (outside of the body). The treatment is non-surgical and non-invasive. Shock waves are sound waves with high intense. This treatment method which had been developed to break up and disperse kidney stones has been used for heel and elbow pain. Side effects of ESWT are almost nonexistent. It is applied outside of the body without administrating cortisone or any other medication. The application time of ESWT is 3-5 minutes, and a result can be obtained in 3-5 sessions in general. Although it is effective in many disorders, it is mostly used in heel spurs and tennis elbow.
