Cupping Therapy

Within the concept of traditional and complementary medicine, our physicians who are certified by the Turkish Ministry of Health are applying cupping treatment.

Cupping is one of the treatment methods which has been applied for centuries and its effect has been proved by clinical studies.

It increases the natural and beneficial substances produced by the body, decreases the pain and even disappears, activates the new blood production and lymphatic system, reduces stress, strengthens the body and causes it to be active and energetic. Cupping purifies and cleanses our body by eliminating the causes of diseases and renews the body by opening the blockages.

Good results are obtained from the cupping therapy when physicians apply cupping to certain points by paying attention to the hygiene rules.

Detoxification

Chemical wastes, food preservatives, artificial sweeteners, colorants and flavors that we are exposed to today’s world are the conditions that lead us to undergo a cupping therapy. Polluted air (exhaust gas or industrial waste carbon dioxide), industrial and domestic water wastes, medicines, prepared foods, sodas and even more accumulate over the years in our body and slowly poison it. It is possible to see all of these harmful substances in the blood obtained with cupping therapy.

Cupping therapy gives a sense of calmness. Since it enables detoxification, it provides the benefits of massage. Cupping therapy increases the circulation by opening the tight pores and allowing the blood to flow freely. Thus, detoxification is provided by removing toxins from the body.

In the first sessions, a large amount of clot caused by toxins in the blood is replaced by bright, pink and thinner blood with reduced coagulation. This means that the intense dark view of the blood is replaced by a light, thin and bright color.

If human blood contains free radicals taken with food, additives, food preservatives and heavy metals, the blood is not good. Not all of these substances can be excreted in urine, sweat and feces. Non-disposable parts of these harmful substances are reintroduced into the bloodstream. So, they are trapped inside the circulatory system. In time, they begin to accumulate in the subcutaneous capillaries where blood flows slowly and cause various diseases. These toxins are taken out of the body thanks to the cupping therapy.

With tiny scratches made in this therapy, substances such as serotonin, histamine and bradykinin are released. These substances cause the expansion of capillaries and arterioles. The blood flow in the microenvironment increases with the expansion of the capillaries. Thus, tissues are better blooded and oxygenated. Muscles relax and blood pressure drops.

Mechanism of Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is not irritating to skin or body. There is no disturbing effect after a slight pain during the scratching on the skin. It is preferred that the tissue heal naturally without applying any chemicals to the scratches.

Increased local blood flow to muscles and skin improves nutrition. Chronic and acute pain conditions become minimal. Muscle tension is relieved. After circular vacuuming, all acupuncture treatment points in that area are stimulated.

Many operations and drug intake can be prevented if the cupping is performed at regular intervals. It has the effect of sedation on the nervous system, of reducing high blood pressure, and of soothing on anxiety, tension and nervousness. It is also useful for those suffering from fatigue, chronic headache, fibromyalgia and neuralgia.

At what intervals is cupping therapy performed?

Cupping therapy should be performed by the physician at the health institution. Session intervals are determined by the physician but can be done approximately once a month.
