Stroke (paralysis) is caused by blockage or bleeding in the vessels in the brain. The incidence increases with age and discomfort such as hypertension and sugar. Treatment is also team work. Exercises are performed by physiotherapists under the supervision of a physician. Electrotherapy sessions, which regulate the current frequency and type, occupational therapies for daily activities, exercise programs in the pool, speech therapy by speech therapist and robotic rehabilitation are performed with the development of technology.

With a tailored exercise program, physiotherapists work on preventing joint stiffness, strengthening the arm and leg muscles and independent sitting, balanced standing, stepping, walking, up and down stairs. In robot therapy, which is one of the best facilities of the technology, the patient is executed very close to the normal walking pattern and the signals of the normal walking pattern are created in the brain. After stroke patients' legs recover faster and better than hands. Robotic rehabilitation can be performed more intensively and comfortably for hands and arms which have more complex tasks than legs. Lifting power of water is used in pool therapy. The work force falling on the muscles of the patient is reduced and the exercises are performed more easily in the water. The speech therapist works with swallowing, making speech, and also swallowing patients with impaired swallowing.
